alright, I need some basic ideas for some generic 1st level adventures. I obviously won't use things you say directly as that would be an easy meta-gaming source, but I need some inspiration here!

Halfling Rogue.
Half-Orc Barbarian.
Elf Sorcerer.
Gnome Wizard (Specializing in illusion).
Dwarf Fighter.
Half-Elf Druid (with wolf companion).
Human Cleric (of Pelor with the healing domain).
These are the basic archetypes of core DnD really. Rangers, monks, and paladins are rarer, as they're more obscure, and no one likes to play LG paladins.

... generic 1st level adventures... not adventurers... the PCs class and race will be entirely up to the players

Guard duty with low level goblin raiders, rat infestations, etc etc. Just small stupid service jobs no one likes to do, as the level increases for the PCs so do the missions.
