Kurst, why would you take Mage Armor twice? You're a sorcerer!
If I may make a suggestion, I vote for Backbiter from Spell Compendium. Essentially, you make the bad guy attack HIMSELF. Fantastic against giant hulking guys like ogres and giants.

Yeah I hate being tied by that, and i would have chosen summon creature, but i figured MM would be better there if i need to continuously keep up light.
Meant to be magic missile, but i'll look into back biter.
Edit: Changed Magic Missile to Lesser Orb Of Acid, also anyone here feel free to make suggestions for sorcerer spells, first magic class (except for a horribly executed Thief Mage, or whatever)

Alright, focus less on evocation and direct damage spells. That's what fighters and tanks are for, and they do it a lot better too. Do what arcane casters are best at: battlefield control. Take spells like evard's black tentacles, grease, glitterdust, and all that, then hurl it at strategic locations to keep the enemy where we want them and weaken them up for us. Also, spells like enervation, bestow curse, etc. are fantastic for softening the enemies up. As for metamagic, don't bother with most, since they'd take you a full round action. A few I WOULD recommend, however, are retributive spell (I think it's from complete arcane, or maybe complete mage) and any of the sudden metamagics from complete arcane, since they don't increase casting time or spell slot level. Retributive spell is best used with something like baleful transposition or backbiter, something that will keep the bad guy from hitting you again. EDIT: This link is a fantastic guide for proper spell selection. It's made for wizards, but it works fine for sorcerers too. www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18500

So two questions now that we're all filled up:
1. What, exactly, is our party currently comprised of? 2. When do we start? We've got a LOOOOONG road ahead of us.

I'm working on two possible characters- o hafling martial rogue headed into the dungeon delver PrC [sneak attack doesn't matter as much as trapfinding for this I don't think, trapfinding will be basically everything fro whoeer is the rogue and a gnome wizard, possibly going into Iniatiate of the Sevenfold Viels, Alienist, Archmage, War Wizard or Effigy Master. Might pick up a level of Duskblade later on and then go into Spellsword as well. Not sure which yet. Unless someone else is willing to be an arcane mage with 9 spell levels he'll be a generalist, if there is another arcanist he'll be either a conjurer, and abjurer, or a gnome-substitution illusionist.
Which one goes in depends on the rest of the team.
[Edit] Kurst, take Evan's Spiked Tentacles of Forced intrusion. Seriously though, tkae Resistance, Light, possibly Dancing Lights, and Beyond that your 0-level spells don't matter much. For first level spells I suggest Summon Monster 1

For first level spells I suggest Summon Monster 1 First off, kudos for the OotS reference. Secondly, you forgot the ever-useful detect magic. Third, Summon Monster takes a backseat to backbiter in my opinion. Oh, but when you get to higher levels, alter self is invaluable as a 2nd level spell (make yourself a troglodyte for +6 natural armor). Oh, and polymorph, shapechange, all of those at their respective levels are just outright BROKEN, but use them if you're willing to resort to such poor game design.

I'm taking light already, as for dancing lights, its 1 min per lvl, so i'll pass that one, and instead of magic missile i grabbed enlarge person, but for that I'm not sure on because I don't know the size of the dungeon.

Oh, a third question in addition to my previous two: 3. How often are we expected to post? Will we do this in sessions? I imagine combat would take quite a while without it.

knowing Rush, he'll probably try to branch into assassin Snadgeros: you can post whenever you're on, and by the looks of things with this thread's posting frequency, we won't have much trouble moving along If someone can find a crack of screenmonkey, I'll run it on that, but otherwise, it'll be a PBP game.

Well, you can download the Screenmonkey free trial....but there's a catch: you can't save stuff, and you have to restart it every 90 minutes. I'll see what my google magic can work though.
