Alright, so late last night, in a mixed stupor of sleepiness and a sugar high, Katasi and I participated in a DnD trivia contest, and we decided to take it a step further. Now, we fight to the death, with fighters.
Essentially, it's a contest of who can make the better fighter, by pitting them against each other. The rules are as follows:
1. Straight fighter level 20. No gestalt, no multiclassing, no prestige classes. EDIT: No variants either!
2. Core only. This means 3.5 monster manual, DMG, and PHb.
3. Any race from core, but no LA or racial hit dice.
4. We start with the same stats, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8. Allocate them as you wish, add racial modifiers, and increase them every 4th level as per standard rules.
5. No magic. No magic items, no spells, no potions, nothing of the sort. This includes using a stat-boosting item before the fight. The only actions you get before the fight are drawing your weapons, so no surprise rounds either.
6. Any equipment you want, but nothing magic and no special properties (keen, fortified, etc.)
7. No Pun-Pun.
8. No using diplomacy or leadership.
9. This will be completely by the Rules-as-written, so don't bring common sense into the argument.
10. Have fun with it and enjoy!
Are you up for it, Katasi? Any rules objectionable or others you want on the list? When should we post our cheesy builds?

6. Any equipment you want, but nothing magic and no special properties (keen, fortified, etc.) Is this limited to core as well, and are feats limited to core? I know it says core but I wasn't sure if that was only race wise.

11. The battle will take place in a 100'x100'x100' cubic arena, with combatants starting 50 ft apart in the center on the ground.

Wouldn't really be fair though, because our fighters are obviously going to be highly specialized, and you could just build a new one designed to take out someone in our specialty. Prior knowledge and all.
We could have a massive fighter tournament. Everyone submits one at the same time, we hold it tourney style, 1v1, and no changing the character until after the tournament's over! Oh my god....let's do that! Katasi! Move this thread into the contests forum! We're having a site-wide fighter tourney!
EDIT: Alright, so we're going to need a moderator. Everyone must submit a character sheet of their finished, final fighter via PM to this person by........April 1st or something. On that date, the moderator will post all of the fighters at once, in a randomly determined tournament bracket. Then we begin combat. All the rules listed above will be followed. Any questions?
Get started now! Your fighter is due by April 1st! Anyone volunteering to be the impartial moderator?
EDIT EDIT: Alright, everyone make a fighter according to the above rules and send it to Acclue by the 1st!

*VOLUNTEER FLAG* I'm an arcane caster player, and as such won't be that good with fighters anyway

100% HP at 1st level, 50% at all others. We'll all have the same HP (other than CON bonuses), and this way it turns out as average. Also, just a clarification: I said no special weapon/armor properties, but I'll allow mithril and masterwork, because they're non-magical and far from gamebreaking.

Read rule number one. You are a level 20 FIGHTER. Maybe in the future we could do this with other classes. I'm thinking possibly of a monk competition next time.

I'd avoid caster fights at all costs. Because every build would just be focused on winning initiative. Once you win initiative, you win the match.
*Roll for initiative* ROUND 1: Caster 1: I cast Time Stop! Caster 2: Ffffffffffffffffffffuck! *Caster 1 uses his 1d4 free rounds to hurl some cloudkill ad forcecages at Caster 2, then wins as soon as time unfreezes.* GAME SET!
